In a bold move on his second term, former and current President, Donald Trump has launched a large-scale operation targeting illegal immigration, resulting in the arrest and deportation of over 500 individuals in just the first few days.
Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, took to X to announce that 538 people had been detained, including suspected terrorists, gang members, and sex offenders. Many of them were swiftly deported using military aircraft, marking what Leavitt referred to as “the largest deportation operation in history.”
In a dramatic step, Trump has declared a “national emergency” at the southern border, calling in 10,000 troops and signing orders aimed at overhauling the immigration system. This includes plans to build a wall and ramp up detentions of foreign criminals.
