President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday broke fast along with Zenith Bank Chairman, Jim Ovia, and business leaders, including the richest man and woman in Africa; Aliko Dangote and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija.

Others, who joined President Buhari to break fast at the Aso Rock Villa, though there was no information on whether they fasted or not, were Chairman Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola, and Chairman Heirs Holdings, Mr Tony Elumelu.

Before now, President Muhammadu Buhari had observed the breaking of Ramadan fast with Service Chiefs consisting of Military, Intelligence services and Police at the Presidential Villa.

At another time, he broke fast with members of the judiciary. At the occasion, he urged the elites to be more patriotic, blaming them for the woes befalling the nation despite her being rich in natural resources.

“So, at this age, at the position we are, more demand is made on us to persuade those we know, the elites, to please pity this country and make more sacrifices.

“At whatever forum, please persuade our fellow elites to be more patriotic because which kind of country are we leaving for our children and our grand children.

“Everybody in the world believes Nigeria has been favoured by God Almighty in terms of material and human resources.

“But we have failed, woefully failed so far to explore it and thank God for these gifts,” the President had said.
