Reports indicate that an IPOB leader of the Delta wing, Ovie Gift Ebrakeme, has been declared wanted by the government of Nigeria having participated in the secessionist struggle of the Eastern region.

It could be recalled that the government had designated IPOB as a terrorist organization; despite its just being a movement wanting to secede from the Nigerian state.

Reports added that Ovie had escaped being arrested while others have been put behind bars. He finally left Nigeria in September, 2019.

Ovie ideological stand has been based on his belief that the Easter region of nigeria, has, for a very long time marginalized, cheated and undermined – hence his personal conviction to join the struggle. All efforts to contact Ovie were not successful as there are reports that he has since left the country for an unknown destination.

Recently, The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reaffirmed that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, remains the sole authority within the organisation, dismissing reports of internal divisions and denying claims that representatives of the group held a secret meeting with the Anambra State Government.

Kanu recently bagged a life improsonment for treason.
